Formal meeting procedures
1. call to order: When the chirperson begins the meeting
2. regrets: People who are unable to attend the meeting
3. quorum: A set number of people (or percentage of attendees) needed to habe a meeting and make decisions
4. agenda: A written list of items that will be discussed in a meeting
5. move a motion: Propose that a decision be made about somethig
6. second a motion: Agree with a motion proposed by someone else
7. motion carried: A phrase used by the Chairperson to indicate that everyone agrees with a dicision
8. adjourn (a metting): End a meeting
9. minutes: A written record of what was discussed in a meeting and the decisions made
